Rain Collection
at Fat Beet Farm

Fat Beet Farm connects to a saltwater canal that flows directly from beautiful Tampa Bay. Although we love having access to such a diverse landscape, saltwater intrusion causes many farming challenges. We cannot collect freshwater from wells, and city water is full of chemicals that we do not want to feed our plants or fish. For these reasons, rain collection is essential in all our farming activities.

Water conservation is the most important sustainability effort that we have tackled so far. We currently have 35,000 gallons of space in our tanks, and we re-use our rainwater wherever we can.
